UNIDENTIFIED: Introducing Mrs. Ruth Graham, wife of Billy Graham, the evangelist of Los Angeles California.

GRAHAM: Some folks think that I'm Chinese. But the only part of me that is Chinese is my heart. And I'm glad I got [here] in time for the service tomorrow night. Some lady talked to my husband the last message he gave on the Home and he spoke ten minutes on what the wife should be and only eight minutes on what the husband should be [Crowd laughs]. And I'll give him two minutes of advice before tomorrow night. Just before the meeting starts, I am expected to give a word of testimony. He thought he'd surprise me. But a very considerate friend of this morning told me I was expected to give one tonight so I've been working feverishly all day long on this speech and now I can't remember it [Crowd laughs]. But as I was reading the Psalms today, I came across a verse that just seemed to fit. It said, "I will speak of thy praise in the great congregation." [Psalms 35:18] And I would just like to give a real brief personal testimony of what the Lord has done for me. You might say "What's so wonderful about God saving the daughter of missionaries? They're good already." Don't you be fooled. Some of the worst kids I know are missionary kids. But I found out that it isn't the amount or degree of sin that damns us, it's the fact of sin. And when the Lord Jesus saved me, I knew the greatest peace and contentment and the deepest joy that I have ever known. And better yet than that has been the joy of going on to know Him better and better through the Word of God and through seeing His hand directing ever circumstance of my life. I pray that if anyone here does not know Him yet, that he will come to know Him before it's to late.
