Copies of the texts of telegrams from newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst to his newspaper editors around the country. In these telegrams, Hearst instructed his editors to run frequent and favorable stories on the YFC movement. Considering the dates, it is quite possible he was influenced by the stories on the May 30th rally. (The Hearst owned Herald-American had been a supporter of the movement and the rally.) From the Papers of Torrey Johnson, Collection 285, box 29, folder 2.
