Handbill for meetings led by J. C. Massie and others at the Tent Evangel Mission Hall in New York City. 1912. The Mission Hall grew out of the Gospel Tent Evangel Movement, which, starting in 1881, held tent evangelistic meetings in New York City at various locations. In 1899 Dwight L. Moody was the featured evangelist. In 1910, the Mission Hall was founded by the same committee that sponsored the tent meetings to hold year round meetings.
