Counselors were volunteers from the area churches. They had received training from at several class sessions held weeks the crusade, led by BGEA staff member Charlie Riggs. After the sermon at each service, they would talk, on a one-to-one basis with all who came forward. They would also gather basic contact information and forward it to the relevant churches.
