Meeting with Syngman Rhee, president of the Republic of Korea
This was the day Syngman Rhee had planned for our discussion with him, so immediately after the luncheon we went to President Rhee's home for tea. We spent something over an hour with the President. I was tremendously impressed with him from several standpoints. He is a scholarly man who speaks excellent English and who is very dynamic and forceful in his speech. He also impressed me as a man of spiritual discernment."
