| Goals: | |
| 1. Increase awareness of the importance of primary documentation for sound scholarly study of the Christian missionary movement and the value of that study to the Christian church in particular. | |
| 2. Encourage all independent missions to provide for the collection and preservation of the records of their work as a part of their stewardship in building the church and carrying out the Great Commission. | |
| 3. Encourage Christian educational institutions with programs for the training of missionaries to consider developing an archives that would preserve a segment of that part of mission history which is not currently being saved. | |
| 4. Develop guidelines that will be useful to mission agencies that desire to establish and maintain their own archives. | |
