Sessions for Visiting Classes
Classes of all sorts come to explore the Archives, coming here from graduate seminars, Sunday schools,
colleges, secondary schools, and Bible institutes. They not only learn about the BGC Archives collections,
but, if they wish, get some hands on experience working with documents and doing research with
primary documents. Click here to get some student and teacher reactions to visting
and working in the Archives.
The components of each visit depend on what the teacher has arranged ahead of time with the Archives staff. Among the
elements to select from are:
- An orientation program on what archives do in general and what the BGC Archives does in particular
- An assignment they begin and complete during their visit, using different types of documents
- An assignment to be done after their visit
- A presentation by the staff on a particular person or organization which has records in the Archives
- A discussion of other archival sources around the country with information on a particular topic
- A tour of other parts of the Center, including the Library and Museum
Introduce your class to the treasures of the BGC Archives! Give us a call, send us a
letter or an e-mail message and discuss with an archivist how your students would benefit from a class
session here.
