Reuben Archer Torrey spent his life in preaching and teaching the Word as an author, educator, evangelistic, and pastor. He authored over forty books, was first superintendent of what is now know as Moody Bible Institute, was dean of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, was evangelist to many countries throughout the world during the first two decades of the twentieth century, and was pastor of the People's Church (Minneapolis), Moody Church (Chicago), Church of the Open Door (Los Angeles), and several others.
Materials in Collection 107, Ephemera of Reuben Archer Torrey Sr., contain correspondence, sermon notes, Sunday school lessons, newspaper clippings, brochures, memorial booklet, and photographs from Torrey's varied career.
