2006 annual report

Thanks for providing this valuable service of preservation and access.” Message from donor Anita Johnson about placing her grandparents Russell and Betty Honeywell’s papers at the Archives. The Honeywells were missionaries to the Philippines.

Material came to the Archives in a variety of ways this year. People sent in items that had been in their attics for years, the staff taped oral history interviews with retired Christian workers, organizations sent their inactive files from the last year, decade, century. In August, Bob went to Keswick conference grounds in New Jersey to attend a reunion of the survivors of the sinking of the Egyptian freighter Zamzam in 1941. Most of the passengers had been American missionaries on their way to Africa, so the story of the Zamzam and its survivors was an interesting footnote to American mission history. Bob shared some of the material the Archives already contains, conducted oral history interviews, and received a generous donation of documents.

Also during the year over 1100 phonograph records of evangelistic music and hundreds of religious postcards were transfered to the Archives from the BGC Museum.
