Historical Background

Nondenominational agency which serves churches through Scripture translation, production and distribution throughout the world; founded in 1816.

Scope and Content

Nine letters and one annual report from members of the American Bible Society addressed to Rev. J.C. Brigham (Secretary), and Joseph Hyde (General Agent and Assistant Treasurer). Letters contain information on finances, orders, reports on sales of Bibles, notices of obituaries of members, and other data relating to the Society.

Provenance

The materials for this collection were received by the Center in September 1984 from the Billy Graham Center Museum.
