Biography
Missionary and founder of China Inland Mission; born in England, 1832; converted, 1849; served as missionary to China with the Chinese Evangelization Society, 1853-1857; founded and served with China Inland Mission, 1865 until his death in 1905.
Scope and Content
Two letters to a Mr. Sloane, one written aboard the Oceania (1896) and the other written enroute to Wah-hsien, China (1898), discussing China Inland Mission affairs, including financial contributions, conferences, and concerns for friends and co-workers.
