Missionaries with China Inland Mission.
Scope and Content
Two letters related to the drowning of missionary George E. King in 1927. Letters describe the Waltons' travel and assignment as missionaries with China Inland Mission to Shunteh (new spelling, Xingtai) in the province of Hopei (new spelling, Hubei); a Bible conference for Chinese Christians; an open letter from D. E. Hoste, General Director of the mission; news items from CIM missionaries around China; and miscellaneous CIM financial and statistical data. Also includes CIM newsletter, "Monthly Notes," and report which describe the treacherous raft trip made by thirty-eight missionaries and their families who were withdrawing from the Kansu Province during which King drowned. Included is a complete list of those who made the trip.
