Evangelist; born, 1746; converted, 1771; served as minister to the Tabernacle and Tottenham Court for 53 years; founded The Evangelical Magazine and several evangelical mission societies; died, 1829.

Scope and Content

One item in the collection is a letter written by Wilks to Rev. A. J. Roberts from London regarding a future visit. The other is a lengthy biographical sketch of Wilks dated February 1829 by J. L. Dandy.


The materials for this collection were received by the Center in April 1980 from the Manuscript Company of Springfield, Virginia.
