Biography

Oil executive and civic leader; chairman of the executive committee of the 1952 and 1965 Houston crusades; financial supporter of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Scope and Content

Correspondence, minutes, newspaper clippings, contracts, audit reports and other materials that document Hankamer's participation in the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's 1952 and 1965 Houston evangelistic campaigns, his participation in the BGEA's film and television ministry (including the filming of Oiltown), his friendship with Billy Graham, and his financial support of the BGEA.

The materials for this collection were deposited at the Center in September 1975 by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
