All materials in this collection are on deposit from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and may not be copied without written permission from the BGEA. Any researcher who wishes to request permission must get the required form from the Archives staff. It is the responsibility of the researcher to fill out the form and send it to the BGEA.

Position Description of Administrative Assistant (according to a ca. 1971 BGEA Policies and Procedures Booklet):

"The Administrative Assistant is responsible in all matters pertaining to ordering, printing, billing and shipping materials for Associate Crusades and single church crusades with Associate Evangelists. He will provide secretarial assistance for the Crusade Coordinators, Music Coordinator and Personnel Assistant by distributing the workload among the secretaries.

He is to assist the Field Director and his secretary in preparing for Investigation, Presentation, Committee Selection Meetings, Introductory Banquets and Ministers' Seminar.

To prepare and supervise office staff necessary to fulfill following needs:

1. Provide inventory of Crusade materials either in Minneapolis or Atlanta sufficient for proposed program.

2. Provide secretarial assistance for Field Director, Crusade Coordinators, Personnel Assistant, and Music Coordinator.

3. Handle special typing assignments such as:

a. Crusade News
b. New Materials
c. Manuscripts

4. Transcribe all dictation for Crusade Coordinators, Music Coordinator and Personnel Assistant.

5. Order all materials for Associate Crusades from Minneapolis Office.

a. Maintain master order sheet.
b. Follow up to insure prompt service on order to Crusade Committee.

6. Prepare billings to be sent to Minneapolis for materials ordered from Crusade.

7. Prepare quarterly reports on financial standings of Associate Crusades; also indicating accounts payable and accounts in arrears.

8. File and maintain correspondence relative to travel file and for Crusade Service reference needs."

Stan Cover was the administrative assistant for the time period covered by these record. He was subordinate to the Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Crusade Planning and Team Activities.

Scope and Content

Almost all the records in this collection date from the years 1970 and 1971. The first part of the collection contains Cover's correspondence, schedules, expense reports and the above mentioned Policies and Procedures Booklet. Then follows files for the associate crusades Cover worked on. For almost every crusade there is a file on invoices, one of personal records and one of shipping orders. The last part of the collection contains samples of the materials used in every crusade, such as newsletters, letters to pastors, buttons, songbooks, etc. Especially interesting are the sample books in box 3. These were shown to local crusade committees to give them an idea of what they would need and how much it would cost.
