Chaplain's Office
  Responsible to the President for overseeing the spiritual life of the College community and providing pastoral care for students, faculty, and staff.
  1.  Foster a healthy spiritual climate on campus, growing programs and services for spiritual formation.
  2.  Direct the undergraduate chapel program, leading students to worship the Triune God and overseeing a spiritual curriculum that guides them through four years at Wheaton.
  3.  Preach the Word of God regularly in chapel and speak as requested at College-related activities, alumni meetings, conferences, and retreats.
  4.  Provide pastoral care and counseling for students, faculty, and staff.
  5.  Encourage an institutional emphasis on prayer through planning and programming with students, faculty, and staff.
  6.  Supervise the Ministry Associate for Care and Administration.
  7.  Supervise the Ministry Associate for Discipleship and Grad Chapel.
  8.  Supervise the Ministry Associate for Spiritual Care.
  9.  Represent the College to the public with special attention to facilitating connections with area churches and encouraging student commitment to local congregations.
  10.  Represent the College to the media on religious issues as directed by the President and coordinated through the Director of Media Relations.
  11.  Help lead the President's Advisory Council on Sexual Identity.
  12.  Serve as a member of the College Life and Enrollment Management Committee of the Faculty.
  13.  Perform other duties as assigned.
  1.  Master of Divinity Degree, or equivalent.
  2.  Ordination in a recognized ecclesiastical body.
  3.  Doctorate preferred.
  4.  At least ten years of experience as a ministry leader in a local church, on a college campus, or through an evangelical outreach agency.
  5.  Complete commitment to the Wheaton College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
