Responsible to the Director of Admissions for the successful recruitment of undergraduate students. |
| |
| Duties |
| |
1. |
Responsible for all recruitment functions for the College and Conservatory. |
| |
2. |
Hire, supervise and conduct regular performance appraisals for the admissions counseling staff, Visit Coordinator and Connection Coordinator. Provide on-going recruitment training, prepare and lead counseling staff meetings and meet with individual counselors on a regular basis. |
| |
3. |
Develop a comprehensive annual training program for recruitment staff to maintain updated information in order to represent the College well. Meet with academic and administrative departments to learn of new programs and opportunities. |
| |
4. |
Responsible for the reprinting of all secondary admissions publications; this includes editing (possibly some writing),working with creative and printing professionals and managing the budget for these items. Work with the Inquiry Processor in tracking the publication usage to keep our inventory well stocked. |
| |
5. |
Manage the undergraduate required interview program and perform interviews with undergraduate applicants as needed and able. |
| |
6. |
Create an annual recruitment travel calendar, assign trips to admissions counselors. Coordinate the alumni volunteer program primarily making arrangements for alumni to attend selected out-of-state college fairs that are not able to be covered by admissions office staff. Manage the travel budget, utilizing the funds efficiently. |

7. |
Manage the local College Fair program, attending some college fairs as needed and able. |
| |
8. |
Work with the Assistant Director- Operations to develop a Communication plan for inquirers and applicants. Prepare a schedule for consistent high-quality mailings, emails and phone contact. |
| |
9. |
Create a targeted marketing plan for student phone contact to inquirers and applicants. |
| |

Create a phone contact flow schedule. |
| |
b. |
Work with Assistant Director - Operations to determine which names are targeted from the database for the student phoner contact |
| |
c. |
Manage the admissions counselor-student phoning coordinator who trains and directs the student phoner program to realize recruitment goals. |
| |
10. |
Manage the Admissions office’s presence on the College website, Facebook, YouTube, etc. Oversee the Sr. Admissions Counselor -web/social media to keep the admissions website updated and relevant. |

11. |
Review the effectiveness of current advertising venues, investigate new options to maintain Wheaton’s presence for prospective high school students, families and influencers in the Christian community. Communicate with current and potential advertisers to place advertisements and work with the Director to implement the annual advertising plan in accordance with the budget. |

12. |
Oversee targeted national search to increase inquires and subsequent applicants from high profile student populations. |
| |
a. |
Working directly with vendors(PSAT, ACT, NRCCUA)or with enrollment services provider (Ruffalo Cody, Perfoma, etc) to develop criteria to purchase prospect names. |
| |
b. |
Coordinate direct mail campaign and work with printers, email vendors etc for timely and accurate delivery. |
| |
c. |
Work with the Director and Assistant Director-Operations to create targeted recruitment pieces for this project. |
| |
d. |
Work with the Assistant Director-Operations to coordinate the delivery of data files. |
| |
e. |
Assist in developing a separate communication plan for this population that is highly personalized and high touch. |
| |
13. |
Assist the Director in evaluating current admissions research and trends. |
| |
14. |
Prepare and/or manage annual reports for international, multicultural and conservatory recruitment and others requested and needed. |
| |
15. |
Provide input to the Director suggesting ways to improve both recruitment and application processing. |
| |
16. |
Perform other duties as assigned. |

| Qualifications |
| |
1. |
Master's degree or five years admissions. |
| |
2. |
Self-motivated, ability to work with details and manage many tasks |
| |
3. |
Strong communication (both written and verbal) and decision making skills. |
| |
4. |
Strong management skills, experience with management preferred |
| |
5. |
Marketing, especially web experience, preferred |
| |
6. |
Experience conducting prospect generation through national search |
| |
7. |
Computer competency in MS Office, Access, Excel preferred |
